PRODUCT INFORMATION

This is an outstanding Chinese dovetailed Elm bucket, used for carrying and measuring rice.  The wedge-shaped slatted box has hammered iron reinforcements on the top corners and halfway down each side.  They were originally present, on all four bottom corners, but only one remains.  The bentwood carrying straps are pegged to the sides of the box, then drawn together and secured to the shaped carrying handle, with the assistance of iron fittings each end.  The box alone is
