ABOUT OUR ARMOIRES

Our armoires typically come in a single door, two door, or three door configuration, often with a drawer or two in the base. They may contain original elements such as hanging poles or pegs and fixed or adjustable shelves.

Armoire interiors can be customized for almost any purpose including storage of linens, as an entertainment centre, or even as a self-contained office piece with an extending writing surface, compartments for office machines and file frames. A shelved armoire is great for organizing craft supplies and activity kits and in an “unfitted” kitchen can hide canned goods and even pots and pans.

As the name suggests, an armoire was originally used to store armour and weaponry but since the seventeenth century armoires, or wardrobes, have been used for storing clothing and, as the largest piece of case furniture in the household, have developed with a great deal of versatility.

Armoire interiors can be customized for almost any purpose including linen storage, entertainment centre, or a self-contained office piece.
