What an attractive chest of drawers and what beautiful hand-cut dovetailed and pegged construction. The case has a step-down edge to the top, which is attached to the sides with hardwood pegs. The front corners are adorned with full turned columns and the base molding has a concave form, mitred around the base of the columns. The top drawer is more shallow than the other three, which are roughly equal in depth. The top drawer has a convex bow and is decorated with a series of flutes and incisions. Its interior is divided into five compartments. The dtawers display the most delicate dovetailed construction and bear their original wooden knobs. The iron escutcheons may be replacements. There is a small repair on the right top front. This piece has a beautiful hand-polished honey finish.
